Maya Language Schools

For some people, Spanish is so “high school” that they want something more.  And what could be more spectacular than learning Maya?

Here’s a fun fact: Yucatec Maya is the most widely spoken indigenous language in the whole of North America.

And here’s another fun fact: It’s possible to learn Yucatec Maya, and an increasing number of people are opting to expand their perspectives and linguistic talents.  Fortunately, there are several programs that allow you to learn Yucatec Maya.  One is run by Duke University, and the other by the Institute of Maya Culture, known as Indemaya, and run by Yucatan State government.

Duke Unviersity’s program is ideal for individuals who are fluent in English and want to learn Yucatec Maya.  Indemaya’s courses are ideal for individuals who are fluent in Spanish and want to learn Yucatec Maya.
