Since 1841 Mérida has been the gateway to extraordinary adventures. John Lloyd Stephens and Frederick Catherwood wrote books – Incidents of Travel in Central America, Chiapas & Yucatan and Incidents of Travel in Yucatan – that have captivated the world’s imagination since the 1840s. Since then people from around the world have ventured here, using Mérida as a base, a bastion of civilization, sophistication and comfort, from which to embark on once-in-a-lifetime adventures.
We live here, we work here, we know which extraordinary day trips can make this into a memorable holiday. Of course there are the familiar trips – an overnight stay at Chichén Itza, or a night visit to the “Light & Sound” show at Uxmal. But here we have compiled off-the-beaten-path adventures, suitable for everyone, that are singular.
Any of our members can direct you and make the arrangements for you, so go for it: Neither John Lloyd Stephens nor Indiana Jones have anything on you!
